Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
To maintain manuscript quality and prevent ethical violations or plagiarism during the publication process, the editorial board has established scientific publication ethics for the Journal of Educational Innovation UHAFIZ (JEDUIN), published by the LPPM Universitas Prof Dr Hafiz MPH. These guidelines apply to authors, editors, reviewers, and journal managers and are based on standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Author Ethics
Reporting
Authors must provide accurate, clear, and comprehensive information regarding the community service process and outcomes, and ensure that all related data are stored securely.
Originality and Plagiarism
Manuscripts must be original, written by the authors, and based on their own ideas. Authors must not copy or claim ideas from other sources. All citations must correctly reference the original works.
Duplicate Submission
Authors must confirm that the manuscript has not been submitted elsewhere. Manuscripts found to be submitted to multiple journals will be rejected.
Author Qualifications
Authors should possess adequate competence in the relevant field. The corresponding author must be clearly identified, and all co-authors must be listed to support communication and publication processes.
Manuscript Errors
Authors must promptly inform the editorial board of any errors identified during review or editing, including inaccuracies in author names, affiliations, references, or other content affecting the clarity or substance of the manuscript.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest to ensure transparency in the publication process.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
Any unusual hazards, chemicals, procedures, or equipment used in the research—including those involving human or animal subjects—must be clearly reported in the manuscript.
2. Editor Ethics
Publication Decisions
Editors must ensure a thorough, transparent, objective, and fair review process. Decisions to accept or reject manuscripts are based on rigorous evaluation by the editorial board.
Publication Information
Guidelines and instructions for authors and stakeholders must be made accessible in both print and electronic formats.
Peer Review Assignment
Editors must assign reviewers appropriately and provide clear instructions regarding review requirements and procedures.
Objectivity and Neutrality
Editors must act objectively, fairly, and honestly, without discrimination based on gender, commercial interests, ethnicity, religion, race, or nationality.
Confidentiality
Editors must protect all sensitive information, particularly regarding author privacy and manuscript handling.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Editors must avoid conflicts of interest to ensure an ethical and smooth publication process.
3. Reviewer Ethics
Objectivity and Impartiality
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts honestly, objectively, and independently. Discrimination based on gender, business interests, ethnicity, religion, race, or nationality is strictly prohibited.
Reference Accuracy
Reviewers must ensure that all citations and references are accurate and credible. Any inconsistencies or errors must be reported to the editors.
Timeliness and Responsiveness
Reviewers must respond to review invitations within the agreed timeframe. If additional time is needed, they must inform the editorial office immediately.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest to maintain an ethical and unbiased review process.
4. Journal Manager Ethics
Decision-Making
Journal managers define the journal’s mission and objectives, particularly in establishing policies and publication decisions, without personal or external bias.
Freedom
Managers must provide a supportive environment for editors and reviewers while respecting author privacy.
Assurance and Promotion
Managers must protect intellectual property rights, maintain transparency in managing funds, and promote the journal’s outputs to ensure meaningful contributions to the scientific community.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Managers must comply with ethical standards to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure a transparent, efficient publication process.
